To use this section of the Guide to Grammar and Writing, your browser must be equipped with a recent version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you don't have an Acrobat Reader attached to your browser, you can get a free copy of this software now from Adobe's website.
Adobe Acrobat Download Home Page. Be sure to select your computer platform (Windows 3.x/95/NT, Macintosh, or other) and follow directions carefully. |
When you select one of the documents below, the Reader will automatically download and open the document. Except for the research papers, the documents are only one or two pages in length, so download time shouldn't be long. Explanatory notes are attached to the documents, and can be opened by double-clicking on the note icons you will find embedded in the documents. The message window can be closed by clicking on the tiny corner box of the window's red margin. If you wish, note icons can be moved around on the page or dragged off to the side. When you print the page, the notes or their icons become invisible and will not appear on the printed copy. When you're done reviewing a page, you can then close the Acrobat Reader and open another document or quit out of the Reader to return to the browser.
