Hoo boy - how did I find this place? I used a search engine to find a resource from which I might learn the definition of "serial comma," which led me to a page containing a link to this page. See Sentence run. Run, Sentence! Run! I never learned grammar because I am a talented writer. Had I been unable to compose a sentence, let alone an essay, my teachers would have drilled me more stringently. As it was, I entered college knowing nothing of participles except that they dangle. I did not even know how to make them dangle, indeed was incapable of doing so. I longed for the day when an essay of mine would be returned with a red circle labelled: "Dangling Participle," just so I would know what one was! Alas, it was not to be. I am so grateful to have found this resource for all my grammar questions. Trivia is one of my favorite subjects. (Yes, there is a connection.)

I do not agree with some answers. for example, a herbal tea not an herbal tea because the *h*is pronounced in English English Also *dove off a rock* is acceptable to me instead of *dived off* and is actually in the Oxford Dictionary. Your thoughts would be welcome.
